Battles & festivals

Hip-hop dance has never had borders: it unites, it brings people together, and it always will.

Unique woman’s battle

La Dame de Fer

A battle devoted entirely to women dancers, in three categories: hip-hop, house and Bonnie & Clyde all style. Organised by the company in Sarcelles, it now has a Paris final.

The intention is explicit. The idea of woman as the “weak link” of dance crews, or the conviction that she had no place in certain styles — or in dance at all — long held sway. La Dame de Fer sets out to give women back their place in hip-hop, and to recall that they have often won the biggest battles against men, without those victories receiving the media attention they deserve.

Next edition — La Dame de Fer 6, on 20 February 2027, rue Pierre Brossolette, 95200 Sarcelles. Hip-hop / House / Bonnie & Clyde.

Nordic qualifier

Battle Bad Nordic

For the past eight years the Battle Bad Nordic has been organised in Linköping by Didier Mayemba, in partnership with the Arbis in Linköping. The event is now growing through a collaboration with Värmeverket in Stockholm.

It is far more than a competition: the official Nordic qualifier for the Battle Bad Sarcelles, but above all an event open to everyone, whatever their background.

The event is supported by Värmeverket in Stockholm and by ON2H, the Organisation nationale du hip-hop.

The origins

Battle Bad Sweden

A choreographic gathering born of an international cultural dance exchange between young French, Swedish, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian dancers.

Battle Bad Sweden is, for me, a way of putting certain things back in their place, more precisely in the matter of respect and of equality between human beings. Out of my deep conviction that man is a woman like any other and that woman is a man like all the others, it has become more and more unbearable for me to watch passively the way a woman can be treated these days, after all the revolutions undertaken by our peers with the noble aim of improving her condition.

I decided, from the position that is mine and in the professional world that is mine — hip-hop dance — to respond to this inequality, as present in the hip-hop world as it is in society. This edition was marked by an all-female jury, in order to highlight the fighting spirit of our women warriors.

Festival

2 Mouv du Temps

Preliminary rounds will be held in several major European cities, notably in Brussels and in Stockholm. They will bring together artists from different horizons, who will try to secure their place in the grand final in Paris: an event under the sign of dance, of sharing and of cultural diversity.

The first edition was held in Sarcelles over three days, between the conservatoire and the salle Jacques-Berrier, combining performances, a battle, a choreographic competition and a public debate.
